For years after my abvuise father passed away, I lived with resentment of women who have wonderful relationships with their fathers. I learned, over time, to focus on the beauty and wonder of the love my husband shares with our daughters. I don't necessarily live vicariously but I live with gratitude in my heart that my girls don't have to struggle like I have. It brings me a sense of peace about the whole thing. I agree with you about how everything we have gone through molds us and makes us who we are. I am a stronger person because of my struggles and as much as I would never wish to go back and repeat it, I wouldn't change a thing.

Can you share a tip on how to get a non-picture-taker to take more ptruices?! lol Mom's our resident take-enough-ptruices-of-peyton girl If it weren't for her, Peyton would grow up with like 4 ptruices of herself and/or her mommy.

Hey Marie! : ) Thanks for blogging! Yes, I want to start shraing as much as I can, because it is a really steep learning curve for me and I hope I'll be able to offer encouragement and get more critiques for improvement if I share my (rough) lighting technique. I use natural light mostly because I just don't have a lot of experience with studio strobes and haven't taken the plunge to buy a set yet. Instead I use a bunch of makeshift backgrounds I bought at a fabric store and tack them up to the wall in coordination with my available light. If I need to I use table lamps without the shades and my reflector to bounce enough light onto my subject. With babies it works fairly well, but I am not sure it would be the best idea with an adult unless you have a full floor-to-ceiling window. It can also be a little tricky especially because every home, day, and set up is different but I do the best I can. I'm actually pretty close to buying a small studio setup of Chimera softboxes but am waiting for our house to sell so I can realistically look at the setup of an in-home studio by 2011. Fun fun!
